The Evertz 3406 Optical SFP Series delivers broadcast-grade 12G-SDI optical-to-electrical and electrical-to-optical conversion in a compact Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) format. Specifically designed to support 4K/UHD single-link workflows, the 3406 series transparently transports uncompressed 12Gb/s video streams along with 3G/HD/SD-SDI and DVB-ASI over single-mode fiber infrastructure, eliminating the bandwidth bottlenecks of legacy coaxial cabling.

Specialized Transmitter and Receiver Models

Engineered for use within Evertz 3406FR-HDBNC mounting frames, the 3406 optical series provides versatile module configurations to match complex UHD routing requirements:

12G Optical Transmitters (EO): Dual-channel models available with standard 1310nm lasers (3406T13-2-12G) or CWDM wavelengths (3406Txx/yy-2-12G) for high-density wavelength multiplexing.
12G Optical Receivers (OE): Dual-channel models (3406R-2-12G) providing 2 electrical outputs per optical channel, or single-channel distribution models (3406R-DA4R-12G) converting 1 optical input into 4 reclocked HD-BNC electrical outputs.

Operational Efficiency and Signal Integrity

Featuring high-density HD-BNC electrical interfaces and LC/UPC optical connectors, the 3406 series allows broadcast facilities, mobile production units, and live event venues to maximize rack density. Integrated adaptive equalization and multi-rate reclocking ensure continuous signal integrity with fast rise/fall times (< 50 ps at 12G) and low alignment jitter across long-distance facility connections and field deployments.
