Product Overview +

Dual Digital Distribution & High-Precision Analog Conversion

The Evertz 500AMDA-AESU is a broadcast-grade $75\ \Omega$ unbalanced AES/EBU digital audio distribution amplifier and 24-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). Engineered for master control rooms, production trucks, and transmission facilities, it allows operators to distribute digital coaxial AES signals while simultaneously monitoring or routing decoded balanced analog audio.

Long-Distance Equalization & Precise Level Trim

  • Extended Cable Compensation: Automatically equalizes and reclocks degraded $75\ \Omega$ BNC digital audio streams across extreme cable distances exceeding $1000\text{ m}$ of Belden 1694A coaxial cable.
  • Fine Analog Level Adjustment: Analog peak levels are adjustable from $+12\text{ dBu}$ to $+24.8\text{ dBu}$ with $0.1\text{ dB}$ resolution, enabling exact matching with broadcast headroom standards (such as $+24\text{ dBu}$ or $+18\text{ dBu}$ $0\text{ dBFS}$ reference levels).
  • Comprehensive Visual Diagnostics: Card-edge LEDs provide real-time feedback, including dynamic audio level bar graphs, sample rate lock ($32/44.1/48\text{ kHz}$), and PCM vs. compressed bitstream indication.

High-Density Modular Chassis Architecture

Occupying a single slot in the 3RU Evertz 500FR frame, up to 16 cards can be deployed per chassis. The unit uses a specialized rear BNC adapter panel equipped with removable 3-pin terminal block connectors for balanced analog audio output.
