High-Density SD-SDI & ST 310 Distribution

The Evertz 500DA is a cost-effective, high-density 1x9 reclocking distribution amplifier engineered for broadcast master control, headends, and signal distribution facilities. Designed to process standard-definition digital video and transport streams, the module automatically detects and reclocks SMPTE ST 259M (143 Mb/s to 540 Mb/s) and DVB-ASI signals. A simple jumper configuration enables precise reclocking for SMPTE ST 310 (19.4 Mb/s) ATSC transport streams.

Advanced Cable Equalization & Signal Integrity

To compensate for long cable runs, the 500DA incorporates high-performance automatic equalization capable of restoring signals over cable lengths up to 440 meters of Belden 1694A at 270 Mb/s (380m when installed adjacent to HD-SDI modules in a 500FR frame). The input includes an isolated return capacitively coupled to ground to reduce noise. Nine fully independent output drivers eliminate cross-channel loading, removing the need to terminate unused BNC outputs while maintaining low wideband jitter (< 0.2 UI).

Frame Integration, Diagnostics, and Control

Occupying a single slot in the 3RU Evertz 500FR frame (supporting up to 16 modules per chassis), the 500DA features complete front-panel hot-swappability without disturbing rear cabling. Diagnostic card-edge LEDs provide instant local status for reclocker lock, rate detection, max equalization limit, and module health. When paired with a 500FC Frame Controller, the 500DA offers complete remote SNMP monitoring and alarm reporting via Evertz VistaLINK®.
