This quad-interface design allows network engineers to build fault-tolerant, meshed PTP timing architectures capable of recovering from network link failures without degrading the root leader hierarchy. The unit natively supports PTP profiles including SMPTE ST 2059-2, AES67, and IEEE 1588 Annex J, alongside NTP and PCR, making it a comprehensive timing core for broadcast and production workflows.

Flexible Baseband Sync and Custom Test Pattern Options

In addition to its IP capability, the 5700MSC-IP includes six independently timeable HD-BNC analog reference outputs to feed existing baseband equipment with Black Burst, HD Tri-Level sync, 10MHz references, and Word Clock signals. For expanded test pattern generation, optional upgrade packages allow the system to output SD/HD/3G-SDI baseband video (+SDITG) or ST 2110-20/30 IP video and audio streams with ST 2022-7 redundancy (+10GTG), both capable of combining channels to form 4K UHD test patterns in 2sI or Square Division formats.
