High-Density Single-Mode Fiber Multiplexing
The Evertz 7705CWDM Series Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing Modules provide a high-density, card-based solution for expanding single-mode fiber infrastructure. Designed to operate across the 1270nm to 1610nm ITU spectrum, these modules allow broadcast facilities, stadiums, and telecommunications providers to combine up to 16 independent optical signals onto a single fiber pair. By maximizing existing cable runs, the 7705CWDM series significantly lowers operational expenses associated with leasing additional dark fiber lines for inter-facility transport.
Fully Passive, Protocol-Agnostic Transport
Built entirely as a passive optical system, the 7705CWDM series operates without power requirements, making it an exceptionally reliable choice for mission-critical signal paths. Because the passive architecture is bit-rate agnostic, it handles uncompressed 3G/HD/SD-SDI video, MADI audio, Ethernet, and control data simultaneously without signal degradation. Integrated expansion ports allow systems to scale seamlessly from an initial 4-channel or 8-channel deployment up to a full 16-channel multiplexed network as system demands expand.
Operational Uptime and Frame Versatility
Unlike standard fiber modules, the 7705CWDM card architecture allows for front-of-frame hot-swapping without disturbing the rear optical connections. This unique mechanism ensures adjacent fiber pathways remain completely uninterrupted during frame routine servicing. The module occupies 1 or 2 slots across standard Evertz enclosures, including the 1RU 7801FR, 3RU 7800FR, and portable 350FR chassis. It is the ideal choice for Studio-to-Transmitter Links (STL), outside broadcast (OB) trucks, and campus-wide signal aggregation.
