Product Overview +
Non-Intrusive Optical Signal Monitoring
The Evertz 7705MS Optical Monitoring Splitter Card provides broadcast engineers and network operators with a dedicated tool for real-time fiber confidence monitoring. Designed specifically for single-mode fiber infrastructure, this single-slot module splits incoming optical signals at an 80/20 power ratio. By routing 80% of the light to the main transmission path and 20% to a test or monitoring port, engineering teams can continuously verify signal integrity and optical power levels without interrupting primary broadcast operations.
High-Reliability Passive Performance
Built entirely as a passive optical device, the 7705MS requires no electrical power, ensuring maximum operational stability and near-zero failure rates in mission-critical environments. Because the card is completely format- and bit-rate independent, it transparently passes uncompressed 3G/HD/SD-SDI video, MADI audio, Ethernet, or telemetry data across both 1310nm and 1550nm optical windows. The primary 80% throughput port maintains a low maximum insertion loss of 2 dB, ensuring the main optical path remains well within system power margins.
Seamless Frame Integration and Maintenance
To maintain strict uptime standards in live broadcast environments, the 7705MS features a front-of-frame hot-swappable architecture. Maintenance personnel can inspect or replace the module from the front of the frame without unplugging or disturbing rear panel fiber cabling. Occupying a single card slot across Evertz 7801FR, 7800FR, and 350FR chassis, the 7705MS is an essential component for Studio-to-Transmitter Links (STL), satellite ground stations, and live venue transport systems.
