High-Efficiency Fiber Optic Multiplexing & Splitting

The Evertz 7705 series of passive optical modules provides versatile wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and optical signal splitting within standard Evertz 7700, 7800, and 570 series frame architectures. Designed to maximize optical cable efficiency and streamline fiber routing in broadcast facilities, remote production trucks, and long-distance transmission links, these single-slot modules allow multiple optical signals to share a single fiber strand or be split for monitoring and redundancy.

Specialized Functional Variants

• 7705WDM & 7705WDM13/15 (Wavelength Division Multiplexers): Combine or separate 1310nm and 1550nm/CWDM band signals on a single optical fiber. The standard 7705WDM supports wideband 1470nm–1610nm CWDM passbands on the 1550nm port with high channel isolation (> 50 dB), while the 7705WDM13/15 is optimized specifically for legacy 1310nm and 1550nm center wavelengths.
• 7705DS (Dual Splitter/Combiner): Performs a 50/50 optical power split to divide a single incoming signal into two equal paths, or merges two optical signals into a single fiber run.
• 7705MS (Monitoring Splitter): Provides an asymmetrical 80/20 optical split, sending 80% of the signal power along the primary transport path while directing a 20% tap to test equipment or signal confidence monitors without disrupting main feeds.

Protocol Agnostic & Zero Maintenance

Because all 7705 modules are purely passive optical devices, they produce zero electrical noise, require no power supplies, and support any data rate or protocol—from SD-SDI up to 12G-SDI, Ethernet, or digital audio. Modules fit securely into front-loading Evertz multiframes, enabling hot-swapping and routine maintenance without needing to re-cable or interrupt surrounding live paths.
