Automated Optical Failover & Link Redundancy

The Evertz 7707BPX is a wideband 2:1 optical protection switch engineered to deliver fail-safe redundancy for critical fiber optic transport links. Designed for broadcast infrastructure, master control rooms, satellite earth stations, and long-haul fiber transmission lines, the 7707BPX continuously monitors incoming optical power levels and automatically switches to a backup link if the main fiber path experiences failure or severe signal attenuation.

Flexible Operating Modes & Rapid Switching

Configured with a MAIN and STANDBY input, the 7707BPX maintains line integrity with an ultra-fast switching speed of less than 30 ms. Broadcast engineers can configure the module to perform automatic reversion (switching back to MAIN once the primary signal recovers) or remain locked on STANDBY until manually reset. Switching can also be manually triggered via front-panel controls, opto-isolated GPI inputs, or SNMP network commands.

Comprehensive Monitoring & VistaLINK® Integration

Equipped with a four-digit card-edge display, the 7707BPX provides real-time local readouts of optical power levels and channel status. Full integration with Evertz VistaLINK® SNMP platform allows system administrators to remotely adjust switching thresholds, monitor optical power levels, and receive real-time SNMP traps for failover events across the facility network.
