The Evertz 7708SFP Series Fiber Optic SFP Card Module brings high-density optical and electrical signal distribution to the 7700 and 7800 series frame ecosystems. Designed as a flexible card-based equivalent to the 3405FR series frames, this card accommodates single (7708SFP), dual (7708SFP-2 / 7708SFP-2-DIN), or quad (7708SFP-4-DIN-A) SFP configurations. Broadcast engineers can populate SFP cages with customized combinations of optical transmitters, receivers, regenerators, or distribution amplifiers on a single card, drastically reducing hardware footprint while maximizing workflow versatility.

Broadcast-Grade Performance and Distance

Engineered to overcome the physical limitations of coaxial cabling in broadcast, live production, and inter-facility transport, the 7708SFP series delivers noise-free signal extension over longer distances. It processes 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, and DVB-ASI streams with low alignment jitter and standard LC/UPC optical connectivity. For high-capacity links, support for 16 ITU-T G.694.2 compliant CWDM wavelengths allows facilities to multiplex multiple video streams over a single optical fiber line, significantly cutting cable tray loads and installation costs.

Serviceability and Intelligent Monitoring

Built for zero-downtime environments, all SFP cages are hot-swappable from the rear plate, allowing for effortless expansion or servicing without interrupting adjacent operations. Status tracking is immediate via the four-digit card edge display, while full SNMP and VistaLINK management capabilities allow control room operators to monitor critical parameters remotely—including optical power levels and electrical signal presence. Available with standard 75-ohm BNC or high-density DIN 1.0/2.3 coaxial connectors, the 7708SFP card adapts directly into existing system architectures.
