The Evertz 7708VB-4-1H-SE FacilityLINK Transceiver streamlines broadcast connectivity by unifying video transport and network extensions into a single 2-slot module. Capable of handling bi-directional transmission, it packages either one HD-SDI stream or four SD-SDI/DVB-ASI channels alongside gigabit Ethernet traffic onto a single 1.485 Gbps link. This allows facilities to leverage lower-cost HD-SDI local loop circuits or existing dark fiber lines for simultaneous high-definition video transport, file transfers, local area network extension, and system monitoring.

Intelligent Bandwidth Optimization and Robust Signal Integrity

At the core of the module is Evertz Flexible Bandwidth Management (FBM) technology, which automatically negotiates and optimizes Ethernet bandwidth based on video usage without service disruption. For coaxial runs, the card incorporates built-in input equalization capable of restoring signals up to 100 meters at 1.485 Gbps and 250 meters at 270 Mbps over Belden cable. For extended inter-facility lines, optional hot-swappable SFP transceivers enable optical conversion with support for up to 16 CWDM wavelengths.

Enterprise Frame Integration and Reliability

Engineered for demanding live production, broadcast, and telecommunications environments, the 7708VB-4-1H-SE is hot-swappable from the front of the frame to keep critical operations online during maintenance. It fits into standard Evertz enclosures, including the 1RU 7801FR, 3RU 7800FR, and portable 350FR frames. When paired with a 7800FC frame controller module, system operators gain real-time SNMP tracking and VistaLINK control over signal routing, line statuses, and optical parameters.
