Advanced HD/SD-SDI Audio Processing & Dolby Decoding

The Evertz 7720AD8-DD-HD is an enterprise-grade audio de-embedder, Dolby-E®/AC-3 decoder, and re-embedder designed for demanding broadcast production, multi-channel playout facilities, and post-production environments. Compatible with both 1.5 Gbps HD-SDI and 270 Mbps SD-SDI signals, this dual-slot card extracts embedded audio across four full groups, decodes complex surround-sound Dolby bitstreams, and re-embeds processed audio directly into downstream video feeds.

Comprehensive Metadata Management & Backup Routing

Beyond discrete audio decoding, the 7720AD8-DD-HD handles critical Dolby-E® Metadata via RS-422/485 serial connections or SMPTE 2020 VANC embedding for downstream encoders. To safeguard broadcast continuity, the module provides 8 unbalanced AES inputs that function as backup audio feeds or secondary voice-over channels. If a primary Dolby stream fails or drops out, the onboard routing logic automatically switches to alternative AES backup sources seamlessly.

Dual Audio Mixers & Centralized VistaLINK® Control

Equipped with two 16-channel output audio mixers, a front-panel headphone jack for real-time monitoring of stereo downmixes, and video/audio delay compensation up to 1.2 seconds, the 7720AD8-DD-HD ensures precise audio management. The card can be optioned with Evertz' patented IntelliGain® Loudness Processor to prevent abrupt volume shifts during commercial interstitials. Full system telemetry, Dialnorm adjustments, and remote monitoring are managed via VistaLINK® SNMP or Evertz VUE control panels.
