Product Overview +
Precision Sync Generation for Hybrid IP Facilities
The Evertz 7800SRG-IP is a high-performance PTP slave sync generator module engineered to bridge modern IP network timing with traditional baseband production hardware. As broadcast environments shift from dedicated coaxial sync distribution to IP-based media transport, the 7800SRG-IP allows facilities to derive local analog reference signals directly from network Precision Time Protocol (PTP). Ideal for remote edit suites, campus LAN timing, and WAN-connected baseband islands, this module significantly reduces cabling complexity while maintaining sub-microsecond synchronization.
Seamless Integration with Upstream Grand Master Clocks
Built as a complementary local reference generator to enterprise PTP Grand Master Clocks like the Evertz 5700MSC-IP, the 7800SRG-IP locks directly to incoming PTP streams across dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. It natively supports critical broadcast timing standards, including SMPTE ST 2059-2 for IP video, AES67 for network audio, and IEEE 1588 Annex J. By locking to the upstream master clock, the module maintains exact phase and frequency consistency across isolated production zones.
Flexible and Independently Timed Reference Outputs
The module provides six high-density 75-ohm HD-BNC outputs, each fully independent in timing offset and signal format. Engineers can configure individual ports to deliver Black Burst (NTSC/PAL), HD Tri-Level sync across standard broadcast frame rates (1080i, 1080p, 720p), or continuous wave signals like 10MHz, 5MHz, and color subcarriers. This versatility ensures that legacy tape decks, video switchers, monitors, and audio gear receive precise, tailored reference signals without requiring separate physical sync pulse generators.
High-Density Modular Design and Remote Management
Designed for seamless installation into industry-standard Evertz 7800, 7700, and 570 series multi-frame chassis, the 7800SRG-IP optimizes rack space while sharing central frame power and monitoring capabilities. Facility operators can easily manage setup, configure output timing offsets, and monitor real-time operational status remotely using Evertz VistaLINK control software or web-based management tools.
