The Evertz 7800TM2-3G series expands Evertz's broadcast-standard timing lineup with a modular, dual-path time code processor designed for 3RU 7800 series frames. Built to handle 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals, the card functions as a simultaneous time code reader, generator, and visual character inserter. Whether converting Linear Timecode (LTC) to Ancillary Time Code (ATC) on high-definition feeds or generating Digital Vertical Interval Timecode (D-VITC) on standard-definition signals, the 7800TM2-3G provides seamless timing translation across complex production workflows.

Flexible Video Character Insertion and Monitoring

Each processing path provides a dedicated Program output featuring relay-bypass protection and a Monitor output with on-screen visual displays. The integrated character inserter enables operators to burn timecode and user-bit data directly into the picture with customizable sizing and positioning. Operating modes can be configured on the fly via card-edge controls with On-Screen Display (OSD), card-edge status LEDs, or centrally using Evertz VistaLINK network management software.

Expanded Control and Timers with the XIO Variant

The 2-slot 7800TM2-XIO-3G model builds on base capabilities by adding 12 programmable GPIO channels (6 per video path) to trigger functions or encode/decode GPI state data inside timecode user bits. It incorporates dual RS-422/RS-232 serial ports to extract Sony 9-pin protocol timecode and offers four independent production Up/Down timers. Auxiliary LTC outputs and dedicated Ethernet timer control make the XIO variant an ideal core for control room clock management.

Precision Military and Scientific Timing with the IRIG Variant

Engineered for defense, aerospace, and specialized recording environments, the 2-slot 7800TM2-IRIG-3G features an onboard IRIG-B reader (format B122) for burning sub-millisecond IRIG timing directly onto video. It encodes IRIG metadata into HD VANC packets and SDI D-VITC lines, automatically transcoding high-precision IRIG time to standard SMPTE timecode so tapes, servers, and NLEs can be indexed using standard broadcast search tools.
