Advanced 4K/UHD Conversion for Next-Generation Live Production

The Evertz 7814UDX-4K series provides ultra-high-definition up, down, and cross conversion in a compact, two-slot modular form factor. Built to help broadcasters and content distributors bridge traditional HD/3G infrastructure with modern 4K/UHD workflows, the series supports conversions between SMPTE ST 292M, ST 424M, and 12G SMPTE ST 2082. Integrated quad-input frame synchronizers ensure seamless alignment across multi-lane quad-link SDI and single-link 12G-SDI environments, supporting both Square Division Quad Split (SQD) and Two-Sample Interleaved (2sI) mapping.

Precision HDR LUT Processing & Color Space Transformation

Equipped with optional video processing engines (+VPROC) and high-precision HDR licenses (+HDR), the 7814UDX-4K series executes low-latency, mathematical transforms between Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats, including Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), Perceptual Quantizer (PQ / ST 2084), and Sony S-Log3. Built-in Look-Up Table (LUT) processing enables real-time color space conversions across ITU Rec. BT.709, BT.2020, and S-Gamut3, accompanied by full RGB color legalization and detail enhancement engines.

Embedded Audio Pipeline, Modular I/O & Centralized Control

The 7814UDX-4K transparently passes 16 embedded audio channels with automatic delay compensation to maintain exact lip-sync alignment. Systems requiring expanded audio manipulation can add the +APROC option for gain, phase inversion, channel shuffling, and mono mixing, or select -AES8 models for 8 discrete AES input/output pairs. The architecture supports optional 12G-SDI optical/coaxial SFP modules and HD-BNC interface variants (-12G-HDBNC-R). Centralized monitoring, alarming, and parameter adjustments are handled via SNMP using Evertz VistaLINK® and VUE touch panels in 3RU 7800FR or 1RU 7801FR chassis.
