The Evertz 7837CD2 series provides dual-channel, broadcast-quality composite analog to serial digital video conversion in a single modular card. Utilizing 12-bit video A-to-D sampling and 3D adaptive comb filtering, these converters isolate luminance and chrominance while removing motion artifacts and cross-color interference. The series is tailored for ingest environments, legacy archival workflows, and signal preparation prior to MPEG or AVC encoding systems. Fully equipped processing amplifiers give operators granular control over black level, gain, hue, saturation, noise reduction, and luma detail enhancement per channel.

Integrated Frame Synchronization and Audio Multiplexing

Each decoded channel features built-in frame synchronization locked to a common composite analog genlock reference. The series offers variable output phase control in 27MHz clock increments and non-time base corrected (non-TBC) signal support for unstable source feeds. The audio-enabled models (-A4 and -A8) expand capabilities by digitizing balanced analog audio via high-density terminal blocks:

• 7837CD2-A4: Converts 4 analog audio inputs (2 per channel), embedding two channels (1/2 group) onto each SDI output while providing 2 discrete AES outputs.
• 7837CD2-A8: Converts 8 analog audio inputs (4 per channel), embedding a full audio group (4 channels) onto each SDI output while providing 4 discrete AES outputs.

Diagnostic OSD and Network System Management

Designed for multi-channel rack installations, the 7837CD2 series includes a composite monitoring output that generates comprehensive On-Screen Display (OSD) text for local card setup and real-time status checking. For centralized facility control, the module is fully SNMP-enabled when housed in 7800FR enclosures with a frame controller, integrating with VistaLINK® software and hardware control panels (such as the VUE-CP232 or VUE-TOUCH2-12R) for system-wide monitoring and automated error reporting.
