The Evertz 7881MUX-LITE-IP is a compact, high-performance IP transport stream multiplexer card designed for DVB-S/T/C headends, cable networks, and IPTV distribution systems. Processing up to 16 Single Program Transport Streams (SPTS) or Multiple Program Transport Streams (MPTS) concurrently, the card enables broadcast engineers to groom, filter, and aggregate pre-encoded video content into optimized output transport streams ready for linear transmission.

Stream Integrity, Bitrate Control, and Metadata Generation

Engineered for error-free stream aggregation, the 7881MUX-LITE-IP includes built-in protection and metadata generation tools:

Per-Program Bitrate Limiting: Restricts individual stream bitrates to prevent input bursts from over-subscribing shared output multiplexes.
DVB/ATSC Table Generation: Automatically constructs and updates critical system information tables (PSI/SI and PSIP) to ensure downstream receiver compatibility.
Stream Monitoring & In-Band Data: Features integrated TSM-Lite monitoring for real-time tracking of continuity counter (CC) errors and signal loss, alongside support for inserting private in-band metadata PIDs for downstream data tagging or firmware management.

Network Flexibility and Automatic Failover

With four total Gigabit Ethernet media interfaces (3x RJ-45 GbE and 1x 1GbE SFP), the 7881MUX-LITE-IP provides versatile IP encapsulation (UDP/IP/Ethernet) across both unicast and multicast (IGMP v2/v3) environments. The card supports full VLAN tagging (passing or adding) across all data ports. When orchestrated by Evertz VistaLINK CSM NMS, the system executes seamless automatic failover to redundant incoming transport feeds in the event of primary link degradation.

Modular Chassis Integration and Management

Occupying two slots in Evertz 7800 series 3RU frame assemblies, the 7881MUX-LITE-IP integrates into existing facility management frameworks via a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet control port. Operators can monitor, configure, and automate multiplexing topologies using Evertz VistaLINK CSM network management software via SNMP.
