Product Overview +

Long-Haul C-Band Optical Amplification

The Evertz 9000EDFA series consists of high-reliability Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers designed to extend multi-channel DWDM optical signals across long-distance broadcast and telecom fiber networks. By combining low noise figures with low power consumption, the 9000EDFA series integrates seamlessly with Evertz optical transmitters, receivers, and DWDM multiplexers to overcome fiber attenuation over long-haul runs.

Targeted Model Configurations

  • 9000EDFA-B Boost Amplifier: Deployed at the transmit origin of an optical link to maximize optical launch power (up to +17dBm output) into the fiber trunk or optical distribution network.
  • 9000EDFA-L Inline Amplifier: Positioned mid-span along an optical transmission route to boost signal levels by combining high input sensitivity (-25dBm) with high output power (+15dBm).
  • 9000EDFA-P Pre-Amplifier: Installed directly prior to the optical receiving equipment at the terminus of a long-haul link, amplifying faint optical signals down to -35dBm with a low 4.5dB typical noise figure and 30dB small signal gain.
