High-Performance Dragon Fire Multiframe Architecture
The Evertz Dragon Fire Double Density (DF-DD) series represents next-generation frame architecture built for demanding video routing, IP media gateways, and high-density signal processing. Following the success of the EMX series, the DF-DD line introduces significantly larger individual card form factors designed to handle extreme compute and power requirements. Cards install vertically across the full 10RU height of the DF9-DD-FR or horizontally in the 1RU DF1-DD-FR, allowing broadcast engineers to build custom, end-to-end signal processing chains in a single frame.
Massive Power Capacity and Thermal Engineering
Designed specifically for next-generation IP infrastructure and high-throughput routing cards, the DF-DD series delivers up to 750 watts of maximum module load per slot. To handle extreme thermal loads, the 10RU DF9-DD-FR utilizes top-mounted fans with a front-to-top exhaust airflow pathway, while the 1RU DF1-DD-FR employs front and rear fans with a front-to-side exhaust pattern. Both frames support hot-swappable fans and power supply units, allowing maintenance without disrupting active processing cards.
Mission-Critical Redundancy and Centralized Management
The DF-DD frame family prioritizes system resilience for high-profile broadcast environments. Operating with auto-ranging N+1 redundant power supply configurations (180–240V AC for 10RU; 90–240V AC for 1RU), the chassis ensures uninterrupted operation during line power anomalies. Dual BNC reference inputs provide two independent, programmable timing planes to manage multi-format synchronization. System health, temperature telemetry, and card configurations are fully accessible over SNMP, integrating directly into Evertz MAGNUM-NMS software.
