Scalable FPGA Compute Architecture
The Evertz ev670-X45-HW is a next-generation, high-density FPGA compute blade engineered for demanding broadcast facilities, remote production hubs, and large-scale IP infrastructures. Occupying two slots in the ev6-FR 6RU frame, the blade provides virtualized compute resources that eliminate the constraints of fixed-function hardware while delivering superior power efficiency and sub-frame processing latency.
Dedicated Software APPs for HD, 3G, and 8K Workflows
Using Evertz orchestration software, operators can load dedicated software applications (APPs) to adapt the compute engine to specific production needs:
- 8x Encoders / 8x Decoders (670-XS45-APP-8E8D): Simultaneously encodes up to 8x 3G/HD channels and decodes up to 8x 3G/HD channels over SDI or SMPTE ST 2110 IP streams.
- 16x 3G Decoders (670-XS45-APP-U16D): Delivers ultra-high-density decoding of up to 16 channels of JPEG XS over ST 2022-2 into SMPTE ST 2110 streams.
- 2x 8K Encoders / Decoders (670-XS45-APP-SU2E-8K / SU2D-8K): Supports cutting-edge 8K workflows with dual-channel 8K (7680x4320p) JPEG XS encoding over ST 2110-22 or decoding to Quad-Link 12G-SDI QSD outputs.
Robust Network Resilience and System Synchronization
Built for uncompromised reliability across unmanaged or congested networks, the ev670-X45-HW incorporates patent-pending packet merge technologies for bit error resilience and 100% Quality of Service (QoS). Built-in frame synchronizers lock input video to analog genlock or PTP (IEEE 1588) timing sources, ensuring smooth integration across multi-camera broadcast environments.
