Virtualized Media Compute Blade
The Evertz MIO-BLADE-Z21 brings software-defined agility to modular media transport. Powered by a high-performance generic FPGA, this dual-slot MIO module runs user-selectable microservice applications (APPs). This architecture allows broadcast operations to repurpose hardware on the fly—shifting from IP encapsulation to video conversion or low-latency compression via perpetual or temporal software keys.
Scalable Microservice Applications (APPs)
The MIO-BLADE-Z21 runs a broad portfolio of specialized software services:
- IP Gateways: MIO-APP-IPG-2110 and MIO-APP-IPG-2022 provide up to 8 configurable gateway paths with ST 2022-7 hitless merge and 2SI quad-to-single link conversion (no licenses required).
- Low-Latency Compression: MIO-APP-XS and MIO-APP-J2K series deliver multi-channel JPEG XS and JPEG2000 encoding/decoding for remote production trunks.
- Format & Signal Processing: MIO-APP-UDX and MIO-APP-2QUAD handle 3G/4K up/down/cross conversion, 3D LUT HDR color mapping, and A/V signal delay up to 10 seconds.
High-Density SDI Connectivity
Featuring 8x HD-BNC connectors with automatic cable equalization and reclocking up to 12G-SDI, the module delivers robust physical signal interconnectivity inside SCORPION frames while maintaining full REST API and NMOS control.
