Satellite Demodulation & Decryption Engine

The Evertz MIO-DM-SAT and MIO-CAM2 series provide hardware-based DVB-S/S2/S2X signal demodulation and Conditional Access (CA) decryption within the modular SCORPION ecosystem. Engineered for cable headends, DTH operators, IPTV providers, and broadcast facilities, these dual-slot MIO modules replace discrete receiver-decoders by unifying satellite ingest, de-scrambling, and IP distribution into a single chassis.

Flexible Input Architecture & Scalability

The MIO-DM-SAT series offers three RF input topology options to match facility routing needs:

  • MIO-DM4-SAT4: Features 4 independent F-Type/BNC inputs for discrete L-Band sources.
  • MIO-DM4-SAT2 & SAT1: Features internal active RF splitters to feed all four onboard demodulators from 2 or 1 input, complete with passive loop-through monitor outputs to eliminate external RF distribution.
  • MIO-CAM2: Pairs with receiver modules via chassis backplane routing to offer dual DVB-CI CAM slots for multi-service de-scrambling.
  • Density: Populate up to 8 dual-slot MIO-DM-SAT modules in a 1RU SCORPION-X18 frame for 32 satellite demodulation channels aggregated onto 100GbE QSFP outputs.
