Product Overview +
Flexible IP and Baseband Timing Architecture
The Evertz MIO-PTP is an ultra-compact, high-precision timing module engineered for modern IP, baseband, and hybrid broadcast infrastructures. Designed to act as a localized Top-of-Rack sync pulse generator, the MIO-PTP converts upstream Precision Time Protocol (PTP) network feeds into localized analog sync signals, eliminating the need for extensive coaxial distribution amplifier networks. It is an ideal timing engine for compact control rooms, remote production trucks, and venue installations where direct GNSS antenna cabling is restricted or unfeasible.
Multi-Constellation GNSS & Robust Reference Failover
At the core of the MIO-PTP is a high-stability Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) that locks directly to PTP or multi-constellation GNSS feeds (GPS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, GLONASS, QZSS). The module supports Evertz dual-band smart antennas as well as RF GNSS antenna hardware via an optional adapter. With user-selectable revertive and non-revertive failover modes, the unit seamlessly switches between GNSS and PTP references to preserve facility clock stability without interrupting downstream production equipment.
Versatile Sync Generation & Scorpion Integration
Equipped with two independently timeable reference outputs, the MIO-PTP generates a wide array of legacy and modern sync signals, including NTSC/PAL Black Burst (with or without VITC), HDTV Tri-Level Sync, 10MHz CW, and Word Clock, alongside dedicated +1PPS and -1PPS HD-BNC outputs. As part of the modular Evertz Scorpion microservice family, the dual-slot module can be deployed in ultra-small form factors like the SCORPION-2F, making it simple to deliver high-speed 10GbE network PTP synchronization (SMPTE ST 2059-2, AES67, IEEE 1588) directly to remote OB sites and studio racks.
