The Evertz SCORPION-18 series is a versatile 1RU "Swiss Army knife" media toolkit designed for video conversion, media transport, and IP edge applications. By uniting baseband SDI, optical conversion, and high-speed IP networks into a single chassis, the SCORPION-18 allows broadcasters to seamlessly bridge traditional SDI environments with 1/10/25/40/100GbE IP infrastructures.

Onboard 12G Routing & Advanced IP Fabric

Unlike passive carrier frames, the SCORPION-18 features powerful built-in core resources:

Integrated 12G Crosspoint: Routes baseband signals directly between any of the 18 front SFP cages and rear MIO module slots without consuming external card capacity.
IP Fabric Options: Add an optional bulk gateway FPGA (IPG) or Ethernet switch (IPX) to enable native SMPTE ST 2110 IP encapsulation, aggregation, and edge routing.
Flexible Processing: Accepts a massive catalog of MIO modules for 12G-SDI frame synchronization, up/down/cross conversion, audio embedding, and compression codecs.
