High-Density Media Edge Compute

The Evertz SCORPION-2RU is a high-density, multi-service edge compute platform engineered for facility production, remote acquisition, and signal transport. By bridging baseband SDI, native IP networks, and optical fiber links, the SCORPION-2RU aggregates, processes, and routes video, audio, and metadata across local or wide-area media networks.

Flexible Signal Transport & Processing

Equipped with up to 36 MIO module slots and up to 4 QSFP-DD interfaces (supporting speeds up to 800GbE), the unit handles complex signal processing tasks:

Video Conversion & Codecs: Supports JPEG-XS, JPEG-2K, HEVC, ST 2110, and ST 2022 along with frame synchronization, up/down/cross conversion, and 3D LUT HDR processing.
Audio & Ancillary Data: Handles audio embedding, de-embedding, shuffling, and gain adjustments (MADI, AES, Analog) alongside serial data, GPIO, and SCTE processing.
Network Reliability: Features FEC and retransmission technologies for lossy network transport, combined with hitless switching for redundancy.
