Product Overview +
Broadcast-Grade Multi-Format Delay Management
The FOR-A EDA Series (EDA-1000, EDA-2000, and EDA-2100) is a lineup of professional video, audio, and VANC data delay units engineered for live broadcast contribution, sports replay setups, regulatory censor buffering, and multi-channel synchronization. Designed to process 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI signals, the series accommodates 4K UHD workflows via 12G-SDI or Quad Link 3G-SDI inputs, offering robust signal distribution up to 8 outputs depending on the model.
Model Range & Extended Memory Options
- EDA-1000: Compact 1RU half-rack size with a single power supply and 4 distributed outputs for space-constrained mobile flypacks.
- EDA-2000: Full 1RU frame featuring dual redundant power supplies and up to 8 distributed outputs for core broadcast facilities.
- EDA-2100: Top-tier 1RU frame with native 12G-SDI I/O, dual redundant power supplies, and 8 distributed outputs for high-bandwidth 4K productions.
Base configurations support up to 40 seconds of HD delay (divided across up to 4 inputs), expandable to 80 seconds with the optional EDA-20EX memory expansion board. For 12G-SDI 4K signals, base delay provides up to 5 seconds, expandable to 10 seconds.
Independent Timing & Control Infrastructure
Unlike basic buffer units, the EDA series permits individual delay parameters for video, 16-channel embedded audio, and VANC metadata. For precise VANC management, minimum line-by-line delays can be applied to specific vertical ancillary data fields per input channel. System configuration and real-time operational control can be managed over IP via Telnet and SNMP, or locally using the dedicated EDA-20RU hardware remote control panel and EDA-20GUI software application.
