Advanced Software-Defined Signal Processing

The FOR-A FA-1616 Series is a versatile 1RU multi-channel processor designed for live broadcast production, mobile OB trucks, LED display setups, and Media-over-IP (MoIP) migration environments. Built upon a software-defined architecture, the unit features two internal processor blocks (Block A and Block B) that allow operators to allocate hardware resources dynamically. Across four user-selectable software configurations, each processor block can perform 2K/4K frame synchronization, color correction, video proc amp adjustments, up/down/cross conversion, SDR/HDR conversion, 3D LUT processing, or JPEG XS (ST 2110-22) encoding and decoding.

Modular Chassis & IP Gateway Capabilities

The FA-1616 series comes in three core hardware configurations to match high-density SDI density and connector preferences:

FA-1616HB-12G: Features 32 HD-BNC connectors supporting 16 inputs and 16 outputs (8 channels capable of 12G-SDI, 8 channels supporting 3G-SDI).
FA-1616B-12G: Equipped with 16 standard BNC connectors with software-selectable input/output routing, with all ports supporting 12G-SDI.
FA-1616HB-3G: High-density 3G-SDI model featuring 32 HD-BNC connectors providing up to 32 software-selectable inputs and outputs.

By installing optional FA-16MOIP and FA-16MOIP-EX cards into slots A and B, the FA-1616 transforms into a high-capacity SDI/IP gateway, facilitating encapsulation/de-encapsulation for SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2022-6 streams with optional JPEG XS support.

Extensive Audio Routing & Remote Control

Audio processing within the FA-1616 manages up to 256 standard channels across embedded SDI, MoIP feeds, or dedicated physical audio cards. Four rear option slots (Slots A–D) accommodate optional interface expansion cards, including Dante IP audio (FA-16DNT), MADI coaxial/optical interfaces (FA-16MADI), AES/EBU digital audio (FA-16AES-UBL/PNL), balanced analog audio (FA-16ANA-AUD), and expanded GPI interfaces (FA-16GPI/PNL). For intuitive studio management, the series supports remote operation using web-based GUIs or dedicated hardware panels like the FA-10RU remote unit and FA-10DCCRU color corrector panel.
