Dedicated HD/4K to 8K Up-Conversion Engine
The FOR-A IF8K-UCN is a BTO (Built-to-Order) 8K up-converter and frame synchronizer engineered to seamlessly integrate HD and 4K UHD video sources into native 8K production environments. By converting HD-SDI or Quad Link 3G-SDI inputs to 8K Octa Link 3G-SDI Dual-Green format outputs, the IF8K-UCN allows broadcast facilities to upconvert legacy media, graphic assets, and secondary camera feeds to match pristine 8K transmission pipelines. User-adjustable enhancement filters ensure crisp detail retrieval during upscaling without generating unnatural ringing or noise artifacts.
Color Space Conversion & Synchronization Tools
To resolve color gamut mismatches when introducing HD material into 8K workflows, the IF8K-UCN provides built-in BT.709 to BT.2020 color space conversion. Coupled with a full video Proc Amp (luminance, chroma, black level), operators can precisely match upconverted feeds with native 8K cameras. The onboard frame synchronizer locks asynchronous lines to external house references while automatically maintaining audio tracking delay. For latency-sensitive workflows, a minimum delay mode bypasses external sync to lock directly to input timing.
Low Power Consumption & Remote Control Options
Built with efficiency in mind, the IF8K-UCN operates at a maximum power consumption of just 35 Watts. Standard dual 8K Dual-Green outputs eliminate external distribution amplifier requirements. Comprehensive system administration is available via front panel controls, a web browser GUI, network SNMP monitoring, or the optional IF8K-REMOTE hardware control panel.
