12G-SDI 4K Audio Embedding & Extraction
The FOR-A USF-101MDX4-12G is a compact 2-slot modular audio multiplexer/demultiplexer card engineered for USF series universal system frames. Supporting broadcast video rates from 1.5 Gbps to single-link 12G-SDI, this module processes 8 channels (4 pairs) of discrete AES/EBU digital audio. In multiplexing (MUX) mode, it embeds 8 external AES/EBU channels into an SDI program stream; in demultiplexing (DEMUX) mode, it extracts 8 user-selected channels from a 16-channel embedded SDI source to external AES/EBU outputs.
Asynchronous Audio Handling & Sync Modes
Equipped with menu-selectable Sample Rate Converters (SRC), the USF-101MDX4-12G seamlessly embeds and de-embeds asynchronous digital audio signals without timing errors. It incorporates four selectable frame synchronization modes—Frame, Line, AVDL, and Line (Min.)—to ensure low-latency signal passthrough across complex broadcast plants. Additional onboard controls include delay adjustment (5 ms to 1,000 ms), channel remapping, gain control, downmixing, and channel muting.
Centralized Management & Frame Compatibility
Designed for broadcast infrastructure, the module features a dedicated LTC BNC port for timecode routing and supports SNMP v2c for centralized network health monitoring. The card fits into FOR-A USF-105AS (1RU) or USF-212BS (2RU) frames, drawing redundant power directly from the main frame chassis.
