12G-SDI 4K Audio Embedding & De-embedding
The FOR-A USF-101MDX8-12G is a high-density audio multiplexer and demultiplexer card designed for insertion into USF series modular frames. Supporting standard-definition through single-link 12G-SDI video signals, the card provides 16-channel AES/EBU digital audio I/O via rear BNC connectors. In multiplexing (MUX) mode, it maps up to 8 AES/EBU pairs onto a 12G-SDI stream; in demultiplexing (DEMUX) mode, it extracts up to 8 selected audio channels from an embedded SDI signal for external routing.
Synchronization & Advanced Audio Processing
Equipped with built-in Sample Rate Converters (SRC), the USF-101MDX8-12G handles asynchronous digital audio feeds without requiring external sample clocks. The module provides selectable sync modes (Frame, Line, AVDL, and Line Min.) to maintain low-latency alignment between audio and video signals. Additional onboard processing capabilities include audio delay adjustment (5 ms to 1,000 ms), channel remapping, gain control, downmixing, and channel muting.
Frame Integration & System Monitoring
Operating across a 2-slot footprint within USF-105AS (1RU) or USF-212BS (2RU) frames, the module draws power directly from the host unit's redundant supplies. Operational health, signal status, and configuration parameters can be managed remotely using SNMP v2c protocols or the frame's network control GUI.
