The FOR-A USF-1043VM is a 3G/HD/SD-SDI video distribution amplifier card equipped with an integrated automatic change-over switch. Engineered for high-reliability broadcast environments, transmission chains, master control rooms, and mobile OB vans, the module guards against unexpected signal loss by monitoring primary feeds and switching seamlessly to an alternate backup line when an input failure or signal degradation is detected.
Configurable I/O Operating Modes
To adapt to diverse infrastructure requirements, the USF-1043VM offers configurable routing architectures:
- 1-Input / 4-Output Mode: Operates as a standard 1x4 video distribution amplifier, splitting a single SDI feed across four isolated outputs.
- 2-Input / 2-Output Change-Over Mode: Accepts two synchronized, matching-format SDI feeds (Main and Backup) and provides two clean outputs while actively monitoring line integrity for failover triggering.
Network Health Monitoring & System Integration
Designed as a plug-in card for FOR-A USF series frame mainframes, the USF-1043VM features comprehensive remote control capabilities. When housed in a network-enabled frame enclosure, engineers can monitor signal lock status, failover triggers, and card performance remotely using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) over local ethernet networks.
