4K Transport Over Legacy SDI Infrastructure

The FOR-A USF-106TICO-12G is a high-performance 4K encoder/decoder module engineered for the FOR-A USF series universal system frames. Utilizing tinyico (TICO) lightweight compression technology, the module compresses 12G-SDI 4K UHD signals into single 3G-SDI or HD-SDI streams with visually lossless quality and extremely low latency (just a few lines of video delay). This allows broadcast facilities to route and transfer 4K content through existing 3G/HD-SDI routing switchers and cabling without costly infrastructure overhauls.

Format Conversion & High-End Image Processing

Equipped with robust video processing tools, the USF-106TICO-12G handles both 2SI and SQD 4K signal formats. It comes standard with 4K UHD to HD downconversion (1080p/1080i) and offers optional upconversion from HD to 4K. Advanced HDR and WCG color processing engines ensure seamless conversion between standard dynamic range (BT.709) and high dynamic range (BT.2020/HLG/PQ) color spaces.

Precise Sync & Audio Management

Built for critical live production environments, the USF-106TICO-12G incorporates full frame synchronization to lock asynchronous incoming signals to facility reference genlock. To eliminate video-to-audio sync offset caused by compression processing, the onboard audio engine offers automatic or semi-automatic audio delay tracking to maintain perfect lip synchronization across output feeds.
