The Mercury Interface Unit is a 2RU rack-mounted device designed to provide extensive interfacing capabilities between radios, telephony systems, analog audio equipment, and IP networks. It serves as a central gateway within the Mercury communication ecosystem.

The MIU enables seamless communication across multiple systems by converting and routing audio between different formats. It supports SIP connectivity, VoIP communication, and radio integration through RoIP, making it highly versatile for complex environments.

Architecture

Built on a peer-to-peer distributed architecture, the MIU can operate independently or as part of a larger Mercury network. This allows scalable deployments with high resilience and no reliance on a single central controller.

Expansion Capability

The unit supports up to four expansion boards, including Radio Interface Boards (RIB), Audio Expansion Boards (AEB), Telephone Interface Boards (FXO/FXS), and Mercury Voice Bridge modules, enabling up to 32 physical ports.
