The KK 143 utilizes a pressure-gradient transducer with a wide cardioid pickup pattern. Compared to a standard cardioid microphone, it offers a broader acceptance angle while maintaining excellent directional control, making it ideal for ensembles, solo instruments, choirs, and ambient recording. Its off-axis frequency response remains highly consistent up to approximately ±90°, ensuring natural tonal balance across the recording field.

The transformerless KM A analog output stage operates from standard 48 V phantom power and incorporates a switchable 10 dB pre-attenuation pad, allowing the microphone system to handle sound pressure levels up to 148 dB without audible distortion.
