Product Overview +

Overview

The Neumann KK 145 with KM A is a premium modular small-diaphragm condenser microphone system featuring a speech-optimized cardioid capsule and the KM A analog output stage. Unlike a standard cardioid microphone, the KK 145 incorporates an acoustic low-frequency roll-off that effectively suppresses wind noise, handling noise, and structure-borne vibrations while maintaining natural speech reproduction. Optimized for close-miking at approximately 15 cm, it is an excellent choice for broadcast, voice-over, podcasting, ENG, commentary, and speech reinforcement.

Relevant Product Features

The KK 145 employs a pressure-gradient transducer with a cardioid pickup pattern similar to the KK 184, but with an acoustically engineered bass roll-off. This design minimizes unwanted low-frequency interference while compensating for the natural proximity effect encountered during close speech recording, resulting in a balanced and intelligible vocal sound.

The transformerless KM A analog output stage operates from standard 48 V phantom power and includes a switchable 10 dB pre-attenuation pad. This enables the microphone system to handle sound pressure levels up to 148 dB with minimal distortion while providing low self-noise, wide dynamic range, and excellent immunity to electromagnetic interference.

As part of Neumann's KM modular microphone system, the KK 145 capsule can be detached from the KM A output stage and remotely positioned using compatible extension cables up to 100 meters. This modular design provides exceptional flexibility for broadcast installations, conference rooms, houses of worship, television studios, and complex recording environments.

Manufactured in Germany, the KK 145 with KM A combines Neumann's renowned acoustic precision with a rugged modular design trusted by broadcasters, recording engineers, and audio professionals worldwide.
