Percon AK 2K FCA Balanced Audio Cable | 2 Conductor 20 AWG CuSn | Mobile Broadcast Use

Heavier Balanced Audio Cable

The Percon AK 2K FCA is a two-conductor balanced audio cable for mobile broadcast applications. It uses a heavier 20 AWG gauge than the AK 212, which helps on longer runs where level loss and conductor resistance start to matter. It is intended for crews that need a dependable balanced feed over a greater distance.

Conductor and Shield Design

The conductors are tinned oxygen-free copper with a 0.50 mm squared cross-section and 16/32 stranding. A braided CuSn shield covers the pair and keeps interference out of the signal, while the PTC NBR jacket stays flexible across a range of temperatures. The stranding helps the cable remain easy to coil and handle on location. Confirm the required length and connector type when you request a quote.

Mobile Use and Diameter

The cable is listed for mobile installation and has a nominal diameter of 6.6 mm. Its jacket is PTC with NBR, a combination chosen for handling and abrasion in camera carts, outside broadcast trucks and temporary rigs where cables are dragged and stepped on regularly during a shoot. Check the specification against your project brief before placing an order.

Termination Guidance and Details

Use connectors with clamp capacity suited to the 0.50 mm squared conductors so the conductors are held securely. Check pin assignment and shield continuity before the run is used, since a single reversed pin can produce phase problems in balanced systems. Test the run end to end before it is used live. Share the route and quantity with your enquiry so the quote matches the job.

Selecting the AK 2K FCA

Choose the AK 2K FCA when a balanced pair must cover longer mobile distances than the AK 212 can manage comfortably. For shorter runs, the AK 212 FCA is the lighter option with a smaller diameter. Lengths and connectors are quoted per project, so state the route length when you enquire. Confirm the required length and connector type when you request a quote.
