Product Overview +

Parallel Loudspeaker Cable

The Percon SK 2115 FCA is a two-conductor parallel loudspeaker cable made from oxygen-free copper. It carries amplifier output to loudspeakers in installed sound systems, and its flexibility makes it suitable for both fixed wiring and the connections around stage and studio speakers that are moved or adjusted regularly. When specifying it, check the conductor, jacket and length details against the project brief.

Conductor Specification and Details

The cable uses 16 AWG copper with a 1.5 mm squared section and 3/28/34 stranding. The larger section keeps resistive loss low, which helps preserve the amplifier's damping factor over typical speaker runs. Fine stranding also helps the cable bend easily around fittings and cabinet corners. Confirm the required length and connector type when you request a quote.

Jacket and Dimensions

The PTC jacket is transparent, which makes the copper conductors visible for checking. The nominal size is 3.1 by 6.5 mm, a flat profile that suits cable tray and skirting. The cable is listed for fixed installation and is rated Euroclass FCA under EN 50575, so check the rating against your project brief. Check the specification against your project brief before placing an order.

Termination Practice and Details

Strip the jacket cleanly and tin or crimp the strands before connecting to speaker terminals or Speakon-type connectors. Keep the polarity consistent across both ends so all speakers in the array move in phase, which avoids cancellation and a thin, unstable low end in the sound system. Share the route and quantity with your enquiry so the quote matches the job.

Selecting the Speaker Cable

Choose the SK 2115 FCA for general parallel speaker runs that need a fine-stranded, flexible cable. For heavier gauge needs, the SK 2125 FCA uses a larger conductor. Quotes are issued by length, so send the speaker run lengths and the number of loudspeakers with your enquiry. Confirm the required length and connector type when you request a quote.
