Percon VK 5378 HF Multicore Video Cable | 5 Coax 20 AWG | Low Smoke Zero Halogen Jacket

Halogen-Free Multicore Video Cable

The Percon VK 5378 HF is a five-coaxial video cable for analogue and digital video, computer and component signals. The HF suffix stands for halogen-free, which makes it a suitable choice for enclosed spaces, public buildings and facilities where smoke and corrosive gases must be limited in an emergency. It keeps the multi-channel routing of the standard range while changing the jacket chemistry for safety.

Coaxial Construction Details

Each of the five coaxials uses a 20 AWG solid copper conductor with a 0.5 mm squared cross-section and FHDPE insulation. The shield is a combined Al-PET-Al and CuSn braid, which keeps the channels isolated from each other and from external electrical noise. The construction is designed to hold signal integrity across the full length of the run, including at the far connector.

FRLSZH Jacket Performance

The FRLSZH jacket is flame retardant, low smoke and zero halogen. It releases less smoke and no halogen acid gas if the cable burns, which is why it is specified in theatres, stadiums and enclosed control rooms. The jacket is chosen for people safety and equipment protection in fires. Check local regulations for your installation, because fire requirements vary by building type and by country.

Installation and Connectors

With an overall diameter of 18.6 mm, the VK 5378 HF is a fixed-installation cable for trunking, racks and control rooms in public buildings. Use matching multi-coax connectors and keep bend radii within the manufacturer limits to protect the shields and conductors during the install. Pull the cable with a grip sized for its diameter and weight, and avoid kinks in the jacket.

Why Choose the HF Version

Choose the VK 5378 HF when the project requires halogen-free jacketing and five coaxial channels together. For a standard PTC jacket with the same channel count, the VK 5065 PTC FCA is the alternative and fits many office and studio routes. Request a quote with the route, channel count and any fire-performance requirement taken from the tender so the cable is specified correctly.
