Product Overview +
What the Multicore Video Cable Does
The Percon VK 8065 is a multicore video cable built for analogue and digital video projection, computer graphics and component video. It carries RGBHV and component signals over eight individually shielded coaxial pairs inside one jacket, so a full multi-signal video run needs only one cable. This keeps routing simple in racks, control rooms and studio trunking where several video signals travel the same route together, saving space and labour on site.
Construction and Signal Performance
Each of the eight coaxials uses a 23 AWG solid copper conductor with FHDPE insulation and an aluminium-PET-aluminium plus CuSn braided shield. The construction keeps crosstalk low between channels, which protects picture quality when several video signals run side by side. The cable is rated for superflexible handling during routing, although its nominal diameter suits fixed runs best.
Jacket and Fire Performance Rating
The outer jacket is PTC with FRLSZH compound, which limits smoke and halogen release if the cable is exposed to fire. The cable is rated Euroclass FCA under EN 50575, a requirement in many European and Gulf projects where cable fire behaviour is written into the tender. Confirm the exact jacket and fire class needed by your project before placing an order.
Installation Notes and Ordering Guidance
The VK 8065 is intended for fixed installation, such as racks, control rooms and studio trunking. Its overall nominal diameter is 16.9 mm, so plan conduit fill and bend radius accordingly. Pull the cable with a sized grip rather than by the coaxials, and terminate with matching Percon BNC or D-sub connectors that suit the eight-channel build.
Choosing This Cable for Your Project
Choose the VK 8065 when a fixed multi-channel video run needs eight coaxials in one cable, because one cable replaces several separate runs. Use the VK 5065 or VK 5471 for smaller channel counts. Percon connectors and tooling are sold alongside the cable, so the whole link can be specified together. Configuration and length are quoted per project, so request a quote with your route plan and connector list.
