The PK-7 Power Supply is a compact and reliable unit designed to power analog partyline intercom systems. Built with a rugged metal chassis, it delivers stable and regulated power to ensure consistent performance in professional communication environments such as broadcasting, live events, and production setups. The unit is capable of powering up to 12 RS-701 headsets, making it suitable for small to medium intercom systems.

Power Performance

The PK-7 supplies 24V DC at 0.4A to the intercom system, with an output voltage range of 22–30V DC. It's fully regulated and the current-limited design ensures stable operation and helps protect connected equipment from power fluctuations. The system is designed to operate with a 100–240V AC mains input and supports a 50–60Hz frequency range, allowing flexible use in various regions.

Connectivity

The power supply features three 3-pin XLR output connectors that deliver both intercom audio and power to connected headset stations. These connectors allow easy system expansion. Y-type line splitters can be used to connect additional headset stations, enabling the system to support multiple users simultaneously. A 2.1 mm coaxial input connector is provided on the front panel for power input.

Protection and Indicators

For safe and reliable operation, the PK-7 includes short-circuit protection and reverse polarity protection to prevent damage to the system. The front panel also includes two LED indicators: a green LED to indicate normal operation and a red LED to indicate an overload condition.

The PK-7 is designed for dependable operation in environments with temperatures ranging from 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C). Its compact size of 3.8 × 2 × 4.7 inches (97 × 50.8 × 119 mm) and lightweight design of 1.0 lb (0.457 kg) make it easy to install and integrate into various setups while maintaining durability.

In the system’s audio measurement standard, dBu is an absolute measurement, where 0 dBu is referenced to 0.775 volts RMS, ensuring a consistent audio level reference within the intercom system.
