By utilizing high-density 8+2 architecture, this unit allows you to consolidate failover switching for up to eight independent program channels. Because it is powered by DC, it integrates perfectly into professional transmitter sites where AC power might be unreliable or where a DC-only battery/UPS infrastructure is used.

How Failover Logic Works

The RB-FS82DC operates by monitoring the health of your primary signal paths via GPI inputs. When an alarm is detected on a "Main" channel, the unit automatically routes the audio to a pre-configured "Standby" path.

  • Encoder Site Mode ('Standbys to outputs'): Ensures that if an encoder goes down, the program is redirected to a functional standby encoder.
  • Decoder Site Mode ('Standbys to inputs'): Ensures that if a decoder fails at the transmission site, an alternative audio source is immediately routed to the transmitter.
