Lightweight Design for Steadicam and Mobile Operators
The Canare FCC-7N series is a highly specialized, slim-profile hybrid fiber-optic (HFO) camera-to-CCU cable engineered for production scenarios where physical weight and flexibility are critical. Shaving the traditional outer diameter down to an agile 7.1mm, this line delivers a dramatic physical advantage on set. For example, a 100-meter spool of FCC-7N is roughly 5kg lighter than a standard 9.2mm broadcast cable. This massive weight reduction directly reduces fatigue for Steadicam operators, handheld camera operators, and rapid-response field crews.
Consolidated Video, Audio, and Infrastructure Data
Despite its ultra-slim footprint, this cable operates as both a comprehensive video cable and audio cable simultaneously. Conforming strictly to the SMPTE 304/311 industry standard, the internal core groups high-bandwidth optical fibers together with copper electrical conductors. This unified infrastructure ensures that uncompressed 4K/HD video feeds, return viewfinder lines, multi-channel studio intercom networks, tally metadata, and auxiliary electrical power pass through a single lightweight tether.
Streamlined Management for Mobile Production Trucks
When rigging tight production environments like outside broadcast (OB) vans or compact field flypacks, space in the cable bays comes at a premium. The reduced physical volume of the FCC-7N lets engineering teams pack more replacement runs into tighter storage compartments. To streamline setups under tight time constraints, each cable comes outfitted with clear heat-shrink labeling tubes and a 7-color connector ring kit, enabling crews to color-code and cross-reference lines across complex patches instantly.
Note: Due to the condensed gauge of its internal copper conductors, the auxiliary power transmission distance of the FCC-7N series is approximately half that of standard-thickness (FCC-N) HFO camera cables.
