Product Overview +
Integrated Audio and Video for Mobile Operations
The Canare LF-2SM7N is a professional-grade bulk hybrid fiber-optic cable engineered to act as a combined audio and video cable infrastructure solution for tight spaces and lightweight mobile setups. Operating fully under the SMPTE ST 311 standard framework, this raw cable consolidates multiple production signals into a single line. This design allows technical teams to build custom patch systems, rig compact outside broadcast (OB) van cable bays, or equip steady-cam and handheld operators without dealing with heavy, unmanageable traditional bundles.
Consolidated Signal and Electrical Power Delivery
This advanced hybrid architecture groups glass fiber cores and copper electrical conductors together under a single flexible jacket. The internal single-mode optical fibers are optimized for uncompressed 4K, 8K, and high-frame-rate HD video channels, alongside return viewfinder feeds. Concurrently, the insulated copper lines support zero-latency production intercom/talkback loops, microphone audio, remote camera control metadata, and auxiliary electrical power sent straight from the CCU to eliminate on-camera battery weight.
Space-Saving Profile with High-Strength Shielding
Weighing only 7.3kg per 100 meters, the LF-2SM7N shaves valuable weight off mobile production spools, making it easier for crews to handle. Despite its slim 7.1mm profile, it boasts a rugged 91% coverage braided shield and a heavy-duty internal strength member that provides 300N of tension tolerance. This ensures excellent physical protection and clean signal performance when pulling lines through narrow facility conduits or busy event venues.
Note: Due to the condensed size of its copper core matrix, the auxiliary power transmission distance of the LF-2SM7N is approximately 50% of a standard 9.2mm (LF-2SM9N) broadcast cable.
