Product Overview +
Analog and Digital Together
Plants that still run composite video alongside digital transport streams often end up with two separate fiber paths. The F-1V2A1ASI multiplexes one baseband video channel, two audio channels and one DVB-ASI or SD-SDI channel onto a single fiber instead. Mixed-format facilities, campus television systems and distribution networks can therefore consolidate cabling without converting their legacy sources first.
Video Sampling and Audio Paths
Composite video is digitally sampled at 10 bits, with a video bandwidth of 10 Hz to 6.5 MHz, a 1 Vp-p 75 ohm input, 67 dB signal-to-noise ratio, differential phase under one degree and differential gain under 0.5 percent. Two audio channels are standard with four available as an option, and the serial data path carries one DVB-ASI channel. Units with more video, audio or ASI channels are built on request.
Connectors, Wavelengths and Levels
Video and ASI connections use BNC, while audio lands on 600 ohm terminal blocks. Optical wavelengths are 1310 nm for 40 km links and 1550 nm, CWDM or DWDM for 80 to 120 km links. Transmitter output power is -5 dBm with receiver sensitivity of -30 dBm, which sets the optical budget available for splices and patching. Bi-directional transport over a single fiber can also be supplied.
Chassis, Power and Climate
The unit occupies a 480 x 225 x 44 mm single rack unit frame suited to a standard 19-inch cabinet. Input power is 110/240 V auto-sensing from an internal supply. Operating temperature runs from 0 to 50 degrees C, storage from -20 to 70 degrees C, and operating humidity starts at 10 percent, which covers typical machine rooms and transmitter buildings without extra climate control.
Transmitter and Receiver Selection
Links are built from a matched pair: F-1V2A1ASI-Tx-MM with F-1V2A1ASI-Rx-MM for 2 km multimode, or F-1V2A1ASI-Tx-40 with F-1V2A1ASI-Rx-40 for 40 km single-mode. Studio-to-transmitter paths, campus TV, surveillance with program audio and mixed analog and digital headends are typical uses. StreamPort Media can quote custom channel counts where more video, audio or ASI capacity is needed.
