Product Overview +

Composite Video with Multichannel Audio

Plenty of working sites still depend on analog cameras, monitors and audio feeds that must reach a control point far away. The Thor F-1V2A-TxRx-RM is a matched transmitter and receiver kit that carries one baseband composite video signal together with several analog audio channels on a single fiber. Fiber covers distances where copper would lose quality, and it stays clean next to power cabling, motors and other electrically noisy equipment.

Uncompressed Ten-Bit Digital Transport

Video is sampled at 10 bits and sent as an uncompressed digital stream, then converted back to analog at the receiving end, so no codec artifacts are introduced along the way. NTSC, PAL and SECAM are all supported, with video bandwidth from 10 Hz to 6.5 MHz and 67 dB SNR. Differential phase stays under 1 degree and differential gain under 0.5 percent, which keeps color reproduction consistent from one end of the link to the other.

Interfaces, Audio Count and Optics

The video interface is 1 Vp-p at 75 ohms, while audio uses 600 ohm terminal blocks and accepts balanced or unbalanced sources. Channel count is model dependent, covering 1 video with 2, 4 or 8 audio channels. Optical output power ranges from -5 to -15 dBm depending on version, with receiver sensitivity up to -30 dBm. Wavelength follows distance: 1310 nm for 20 and 40 km, and 1550 nm, CWDM or DWDM from 80 km to 120 km.

Rack Format, Power and Climate

Both units share a 480 mm by 225 mm by 44 mm chassis, a single rack unit of 19-inch width at each end of the link. The internal supply auto-senses 110 or 240 V mains, so no voltage selection is needed when equipment moves between regions. Operating temperature runs from 0 to 50 degrees C and storage from -20 to 70 degrees C, which comfortably covers an equipment room, a studio rack or a monitored plant room.

Choosing an Ordering Code

Part numbers follow the pattern F-1V-XA-TX/RX-YY, where X is 2, 4, 6 or 8 audio channels and YY is the fiber distance in kilometers, chosen from 20, 40, 80, 120 or 150, with 20 km as the standard build. Thor lists F-1V2A-TxRx-RM, F-1V4A-TxRx-RM, F-1V6A-TxRx-RM and F-1V8A-TxRx-RM. CCTV links, broadcast contribution, houses of worship and campus AV distribution are the common applications.
