Product Overview +
Four Gigabit Ports Per Site
Putting a switch at a remote site just to fan out one fiber link adds another device to power and maintain. The F-GET-4ET-A/B pair carries four Gigabit Ethernet ports between two locations over a single strand of single-mode fiber, so IP cameras, PCs, switches, Wi-Fi routers and IP encoders connect directly at each end. Up to four devices are supported per side of the link.
WDM Full Duplex Transport
Transmission uses wavelength division multiplexing, so one simplex strand carries traffic in both directions at full duplex. The four RJ45 ports, G1 through G4, auto-negotiate 10/100/1000 Mbps along with full and half duplex modes. Standards followed include IEEE 802.3, 802.3u for 100BASE-TX and 802.3ab for 1000BASE-T. Application protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, TFTP, SFTP, DHCP and BOOTP pass through untouched.
Optical Interface and Distance
The optical port is an LC/PC connector on single-fiber simplex single-mode cable, with a dual-fiber SFP version available on request. Standard transmission distance is 20 km, and 40, 80 and 120 km variants are listed per model. Each port has link and activity LEDs alongside a power indicator, and interface protection covers 1500 W surge and 15 kV ESD on the copper side.
Power Options and Enclosure
The unit measures 4 by 5 by 1.25 inches and runs on a 5 V DC input with the external supply included, while consumption stays at or below 2.68 W. An 85 to 220 V AC input version can be requested when a local DC source is inconvenient. Operating temperature spans -30 to +75 degrees C at 0 to 95 percent relative humidity, non-condensing, and the product is RoHS compliant.
A/B Pairing and Applications
Links are always built from one A and one B unit, supplied together as F-GET-4ET-A/B and also listed separately as F-GET-4ET-A and F-GET-4ET-B. Surveillance networks, campus and venue links, remote encoders and broadcast contribution sites are the usual applications for the pair. StreamPort Media can quote the matched units at the distance variant your route requires, including the dual-fiber option.
