The camera combines a high sensitivity Sony UHD sensor, powerful optical zoom, AI driven presenter tracking, and embedded FreeD metadata over NDI, enabling sophisticated productions with minimal infrastructure.

Ultra HD Imaging Performance

At the core of the PTZ3 UHD PLUS is a Sony 1/1.8 inch 12 megapixel CMOS sensor capable of delivering detailed 4K and HD images with excellent color reproduction and low light performance. A 30x optical zoom lens allows tight framing even at long distances, making the camera suitable for large studios, auditoriums, and event spaces. The wide dynamic exposure controls ensure consistent image quality across varying lighting conditions.

AI Presenter Tracking and Intelligent Framing

The camera features advanced AI based face and posture detection for presenter tracking. It continues tracking even when the presenter turns away from the camera and intelligently avoids tracking outside defined boundaries. Presenter memory prevents unwanted switching when multiple people enter the frame, while configurable target switching allows controlled transitions between speakers. Blackboard detection locks the camera when a presenter enters a presentation area, ensuring smooth and stable shots.

FreeD Camera Tracking Embedded over NDI

The PTZ3 UHD PLUS embeds FreeD camera tracking metadata directly into the NDI stream, including camera position, rotation, and lens data. This removes the need for external tracking hardware and simplifies AR and XR production pipelines. The embedded FreeD data enables seamless integration with virtual sets, augmented graphics, and immersive studio environments using a single network connection.

Professional Audio Integration

For audio, the camera includes a mini XLR input with switchable 48V phantom power as well as a 3.5 mm line level input. Audio is embedded directly into the NDI stream, simplifying cabling and synchronization. Phantom power activation is protected by a double confirmation process to prevent accidental power delivery to non powered microphones.

Flexible Connectivity and Network Efficiency

The PTZ3 UHD PLUS supports NDI HX2 and NDI HX3 video delivery, with NDI HX3 offering reduced latency and lower bandwidth usage while maintaining high image quality. Multicast support allows multiple receivers to access the same video stream efficiently. In addition to IP workflows, the camera provides 3G SDI and HDMI outputs for compatibility with traditional broadcast and AV systems.

Power, Control, and Installation

The camera supports Power over Ethernet Plus, allowing power, video, audio, control, tally, and tracking data to be delivered over a single Ethernet cable. It can also be powered via a 12 volt DC supply. Control and configuration are handled through a web based interface, NDI Studio Monitor, or the included IR remote control, offering flexible operation in both fixed and mobile setups.
