Product Overview +
The Datavideo TP-950 is the evolution of the dedicated PTZ prompter, swapping the integrated monitor for a high-performance tablet holder. This change provides users with the flexibility to use their own modern high-resolution tablets (like the iPad Pro M4) while significantly reducing the initial hardware cost. By utilizing the tablet's own processing power and connectivity, the TP-950 offers a more modular and portable solution for dynamic video productions.
The "Upside-Down" Advantage
Traditional teleprompters often cause PTZ cameras to hit the glass or the prompter frame when tilting up. The TP-950 solves this by mounting the camera upside down. This orientation places the camera’s "elbow" at the top, allowing the lens to move freely through its full range of motion. The image is easily flipped back to normal within the camera's settings or the production switcher, ensuring a 100% functional PTZ experience.
Professional Software Capabilities
By using the dvPrompter Plus app, the TP-950 gains features typically reserved for high-end broadcast systems. You can import PowerPoint and Keynote slides, edit scripts in real-time over the network, and manage complex playlists. The app's Rich Text Editor allows for bold cues and colored text to guide the talent through fast-paced segments. Note that advanced IP synchronization and remote monitoring features are available via an in-app purchase.
Built for the Field and Studio
The TP-950 is constructed from robust aluminum extrusions and features a metal base tray with a standard tripod plate. This ensures stability even when loaded with a heavy PTZ camera and a large tablet. The inclusion of the PTZ Scissor Lift allows for micro-adjustments in height, ensuring that no matter which camera you use—from a compact PTC-140 to a larger PTC-305—the lens is always perfectly aligned with the center of the mirror.
