The FOR-A HVS-490 is an advanced live video switcher built on the creative heritage of FOR-A's HANABI series. Designed for live broadcasting, mobile OB trucks, corporate events, and live staging, the HVS-490 delivers rich M/E performance in a space-saving chassis. While operating as a native 2 M/E switcher in its standard configuration, FOR-A’s proprietary MELite™ technology expands its operational capabilities to provide 4-to-6 M/E performance—allowing a single operator to manage main broadcasts, web cuts, and independent multi-screen stage feeds simultaneously.

Hybrid SDI, NDI, and Dante Workflow Flexibility

Bridging legacy baseband infrastructure with modern IP routing, the HVS-490 adapts seamlessly to complex live environments. By adding optional HVS-NIF interface cards, operators can incorporate NDI® High Bandwidth and low-bitrate NDI® HX2 feeds directly into the switcher frame, making it easy to bring in remote PTZ camera feeds, videoconferencing streams, and PC graphics. Additionally, the optional HVS-DNT expansion card introduces up to 64 channels of Dante® IP audio, streamlining signal distribution over standard network infrastructure.

Advanced Visual Layering & Multi-Screen Monitoring

Equipped with four standard keyers per M/E plus four reassignable FLEXaKEY™ channels, the HVS-490 allows up to eight keyers to be combined on a single M/E bus for intricate picture-in-picture graphics and video wall compositing. The system includes 16 2.5D DVE wipes and advanced visual effects such as defocus, mosaic, and posterization. For total monitoring clarity, three multi-viewer outputs support 39 layout patterns, enabling operators to display up to 49 windows across multi-viewer and PGM feeds.
