Product Overview +
Native 12G-SDI Mid-Scale Routing
The FOR-A MFR-4100 is a compact, multiformat routing switcher built for 4K UHD live broadcast, OB vans, and post-production systems. Operating across a matrix of up to 72 inputs and 72 outputs, the chassis accommodates up to 8 input cards and 8 output cards (9 channels per card). Utilizing MFR-9SDI12GA and MFR-9SDO12GA expansion cards, it delivers uncompressed single-link 12G/6G-SDI routing alongside auto signal detection for legacy 3G/HD/SD-SDI and DVB-ASI formats.
Advanced Monitoring and Ecosystem Integration
Designed for signal stability in complex 12G workflows, the MFR-4100 incorporates built-in jitter cleaning and automated SDI input signal error alerts (CRC/TRS) accessible via the web GUI and SNMP traps. The routing switcher integrates seamlessly into production environments, supporting standard TSL and HARRIS control protocols along with FOR-A’s native linkage for HVS production switchers and standalone multi-viewers. This allows real-time tally exchange and bi-directional source name tracking across all connected systems.
Virtual Partitioning & Operational Reliability
The MFR-4100 features virtual matrix partitioning, allowing a single frame to operate as multiple independent virtual switchers. Supported operational modes include 4K/8K coordinated crosspoint switching, 4K/HD simulcasting, and Video/Key linked routing. System configuration is executed through a built-in web server or front control panel. Designed for non-stop performance, the MFR-4100 supports optional redundant CPUs and power supplies, as well as control connectivity for up to 127 remote control units or GPI/Tally expansion modules.
