Massive 256x256 Infrastructure Core

The FOR-A MFR-8000 is a high-density, large-scale routing switcher built to serve as the main signal management hub for broadcast facilities, large OB trucks, and complex production environments. Expanding on FOR-A's proven MFR series architecture, the MFR-8000 accommodates up to 16 input and 16 output expansion cards in a 16RU frame, allowing custom matrix configurations up to 256x256. The system provides native support for 3G/HD/SD-SDI and ASI, and can route up to 64 inputs and 64 outputs of 4K video or 16 inputs and 16 outputs of 8K video.

Integrated Gearbox & Audio/Control Routing

Equipped with optional MFR-16SDIGB input and MFR-16SDOGB output cards, the MFR-8000 provides built-in Gearbox functionality for converting between Quad Link 3G-SDI and 12G-SDI, as well as 2SI and SQD mapping formats. Beyond video routing, the frame acts as an integrated audio matrix supporting MADI, AES/EBU, and analog audio, complete with sample rate conversion, A/D-D/A conversion, and embedding/de-embedding. Optional RS-422 serial I/O cards also allow the router to manage control signals between editing stations, video servers, and peripheral devices.

Flexible Control & Enterprise-Grade Reliability

The MFR-8000 offers comprehensive matrix control, including virtual matrix partitioning (V/Key linking, 3D, 4K/8K mode, HD/SD simul-switching) and advanced crosspoint logic like Salvo, Take, Chop, and Level operations. System management is handled via a built-in web-based interface, direct front-panel LED status displays, or third-party SNMP network monitoring systems. Designed for uninterrupted 24/7 mission-critical operations, the switcher features front-accessible boards and power units alongside optional CPU, network, and power supply redundancy.
